Looking for tips for a successful office move? Well as a business, relocating to a different location can seem like a daunting task. From endless archives and plies of paperwork, to complex computer systems, servers and more; the upheaval of everything you’ve worked for might seem like an insurmountable amount hassle.

Of course, at times like this, it’s always best to bring in the experts, and here at Harrison and Rowley, we have many years experience expertly and accurately moving everything from huge, sprawling commercial outfits, to small upstart single offices, quickly and affordably – and are experts in all things commercial removals.

Here at Harrison & Rowley, we understand the importance of making sure your office move is as stress-free as possible. Even if you have yet to find a property that you want to move too, there is still a lot to think about. This is why we have complied a list below of things to consider for your office move –

1.) Assess your requirements –

Be completely sure that your new or potential new office has everything you and your company needs. If you are in a rush to find a new place, then mistakes can be made. Ask yourself, the following questions –

Where would I like to move?

Is the location suited to all within the organisation, and clients/partners to get too?

What type of lease would I want, and for how long?

How much space do I need? And how soon would I need to be in?

What does the new place need to have that the current one does not?

2.) Create a dedicated team –

If it is feasible for you, put together a team that are responsible in project managing the office move. This way, you can focus on the day-to-day operations as normal without getting distracted.

It would make sense for someone in the team, or even a team itself be dedicated to doing whats necessary to plan whats needed for the big office move.

3.) Plan Early –

If time is on your side then make sure you start to map out the moving process as early as you can, as there is a lot to consider – especially if you are still looking for a premises.

You may already have a location in mind, but if you don’t then theres much to consider…

– How far is your new office from the existing one?

– Are there many amenities around there where staff can get some lunch from?

– Is it easily locatable by clients and customers?

4.) Don’t sign any lease related documents without getting legal consultation –

Make sure your property solicitor is on hand to guide you through any legal matters that you are unsure of. If you haven’t yet consulted with a property solicitor yet, then be sure to get in touch with one.

This could possibly save on any potential sticking points when moving to and from your premises.

5.) Hire the professionals to help on moving day –

It goes without saying that we at Harrison & Rowley thrive on watching our customers settle into their premises much faster as a result of our hard work.
